I’m back, folks!
I always get this weird feeling when I come back home from travelling. I’m a travelling kind of soul, and it’s when I’m out and about that I feel right in my element. So coming home is of course nice (I know where everything is, and I don’t have to keep my stuff stowed away in a messy suitcase, and all of that), but it’s also a bit… melancholic (not to sound too dramatic).
There’s a Swedish saying that goes Borta bra, men hemma bäst – translated directly it would be something like Away is good but home is best. I suppose it’s similar to the English saying There’s no place like home.
I don’t know that I always agree with these saying. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love my home and I feel comfortable here. But there’s something more to travelling, something that I don’t get when at home. Travelling fills my heart and my mind with this joy/fulfillment/euphoria… It’s so hard to explain, but people who travel lots will know what I’m talking about. And really, as long as I have the love of my life with me, I’ll always feel at home!
But anyway, it’s good to be back here, at the blog! I’ve got so much to tell you, and I’ve gotten so many ideas on my trip, that I’m super excited to get back to writing!
For now, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve returned home safe and sound, and I’m back on track again!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with an awesome quote from a great man who passed away while I was on the other side of the pond:
Always remember this.
