Present time!

There are three kinds of people: the ones who live too much in the past, the ones who live in the present with ease, and the ones who live too much in the future.

I tend to live a little bit too much in the future, and that causes me to worry about a lot of things that are very unnecessary to worry about (as you never know if it will actually happen or not).

But it hit me the other morning, as I was writing in my diary, that my mindset has changed in the last month or so. I have become better at truly living in the present. I take the day one at a time and live it to the fullest and make sure that I am as happy as possible during that day. And when the next day arrives, it’s a new beginning with new possibilities, no matter what.

So what is the cause of this beautiful change?

Yoga.

Definitely yoga.

A month and a half ago, I decided to do a 30 day yoga challenge, to really get into a habit – a proper routine – of doing it. I knew it made me feel better, so I thought that practicing it every day could definitely have some good benefits for me.

And I managed to actually stick with it, too. I did yoga every single day, no matter if I felt I had time or not. I simply made sure to find some time for it (because you can always find time to do the things you really want to do).

And now, a month and a bit later (and 13 days into another 30 day challenge!), I see the best benefits of me being not only stronger (that core, you guys!), but feeling more energetic and fit, and of course, more grounded, and living more in the present. In fact, I’m surprised to say it, but I haven’t thought a single bit about the future in at least a month. Funny I didn’t realize it until now, huh?

So if you want to try something new (or get back into something familiar!), I suggest you try out yoga and see what it can do for you. You don’t necessarily have to do it the way I did it, but I’m just saying it worked for me, so it might work for you too!

If you are interested in trying it out, I’ve found great help and fun in Yoga with Adriene over on YouTube. Her channel is awesome, and she’s the perfect amount of seriousness, quirkiness and freedom, to fit me perfectly.
I started off with this 30 day challenge, because it has shorter videos (baby steps, people!) of about 10-30 minutes per video, and now I’m doing this 30 day challenge, which has longer videos of about 30-50 minutes per video.

If you try it out, or even have any questions before you begin, let me know! 🙂
Just thought I’d share the love and give you a little tip, if you wish to live more in the present and feel absolutely amazing about yourself (because you are amazing)!

Endless love,

Jo

  1. It’s so funny I came across this post today. I have recently been looking at the same you tube channel as I have also been thinking of starting yoga. What is your new 30 day challenge? I am hoping to start my yoga journey soon which I will record on my blog.

    1. That’s so cool! I definitely think you should give it a go!
Adriene has two different challenges (one of them technically called yoga camp). I’ve linked to both of them at the bottom of the post 🙂 they’re both awesome!

  2. I’ve been thinking about trying to do Yoga for quite some time now, but I’m worried how I’m going to fit it on my schedule. Thanks for the YouTube channel, I could probably just do it at home for now…Like you said, baby steps 🙂

  3. Your post resonates deeply with me. When I started doing yoga it was for something physical. Over the past 5-6 years that has completely changed. My yoga practice is now part of my spiritual practice. Practicing yoga definitely connects us with the universe.
